The Parent Alignment declaration

Your alignment matters as much as your child's. After the open house, each parent records what they understand of the system, what they expect, and how the family aligns with it.

Four parts

  • Understanding check: ten short items on our key principles. A wrong answer shows the principle, not a score.
  • Real scenarios: six situations a parent actually faces.
  • Commitments: each one ticked by you. None is pre-ticked.
  • Declaration: in your own words, in English or Kannada.

This is a record of what you understood and committed to; its strength is moral and practical, not legal. The declaration is time-stamped and a copy is emailed to you.

Step 2 of 6

Part 1: understanding check

True or false. A wrong answer shows the principle, not a score.

1. At RIMA, a student first gets a medical seat and then becomes a doctor.

You don't get a medical seat and then become a doctor. You become a doctor, and then you get the medical seat.

Please choose one answer.
2. A good teacher is the same as a coach.

An instructor gives guidelines, a teacher gives understanding, a coach gives clarity, a mentor gives inspiration. Doctors mentor future doctors.

Please choose one answer.
3. A doctor is built in five dimensions, not only the intellectual one.

Physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual: without all five being worked on every day, transformation is not possible.

Please choose one answer.
4. RIMA promises a medical seat to students who follow the system.

We will never promise a medical seat. Seats depend on competition. We promise the preparation and higher chances, never a seat.

Please choose one answer.
5. Ranks of past students are the main reason to join RIMA.

Ranks are a reinforcement, not an inducement. They are shown last.

Please choose one answer.
6. Students at RIMA study 14 to 16 hours a day.

About 10½ hours of learning, built up gradually, with sleep, food, yoga and sport fixed. We do not tell students to study 14 or 16 hours; it is unnecessary and it does not work.

Please choose one answer.
7. Students may keep a basic phone on campus for emergencies.

It is a no-gadget campus: no mobile phones for students. The wardens and the campus director are reachable for every family.

Please choose one answer.
8. Admission is a privilege earned through alignment, not a choice from a list.

Families come to us after understanding who we are; we never catch hold of an enquiry and push it into an admission.

Please choose one answer.
9. Registration confirms admission.

Registration is not admission. Admission is confirmed after board results.

Please choose one answer.
10. The Magadi programmes are subject to approvals.

Magadi programmes are always described as subject to approvals.
